According to the travel website travelawaits.com, Chicago's Christkindlemarket was named one of the 11 Best Bavarian-Style Christmas Markets in the US. The list also includes markets in Arlington (Texas), Carmel (Indiana), and Frankenmuth (Michigan), on the site they say...

"...the Chicago Christmas market takes place in two locations in the Windy City. Opening the weekend before Thanksgiving, the traditional Daley Plaza location runs until Christmas Eve and the Wrigleyville location runs until New Year’s Eve. Bundle up and browse candy-striped stalls of unique wares, sip a warm cup of glühwein, and nosh on schnitzel sandwiches and other tasty treats."

They also go on to mention that Chicago's market is the most authentic holiday market outside of Europe. The market is in its 25th year, and the developers of the market collaborated with the market in Nuremberg, Germany which is one of the best markets in all of Germany.

The Chicago Christkindlemarket has its own website where you can learn all about the fun holiday tradition, check out the website for yourself by clicking here!

I lived in Chicago for years and never missed a Christkindlmarket, it was always a treat of the holiday season. It is always a blast to grab a beer, drink some mulled wine, have a pretzel, and buy things that you don't need!

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
