The Governor of Illinois DOESN'T want to spend Tax Money on what?

According to an article from WTTW, the Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, has said he is reluctant to spend taxpayer money on a new baseball stadium for the Chicago White Sox. Reluctant doesn't mean Governor Pritzker won't spend taxpayer money but as of now, he is definitely playing hardball with the Chicago White Sox. In the article, they say...

"Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he’s “reluctant” to use taxpayer funds to help the White Sox move from Bridgeport to the South Loop. “I think I’ve been fairly clear about the fact that the taxpayers’ dollars are precious,” Pritzker said in response to a reporter’s question"

The article goes on to mention how the Chicago Cubs baseball team just finished a 5 year privately funded expansion and renovation of Wrigley Field and the surrounding Wrigleyville neighborhood. While that was privately funded, the team did receive tax breaks and federal historic preservation tax credits. Should the state give taxpayer money for a new stadium?

I have always been one to argue that teams should fund their own stadiums. Especially now, when teams are worth more money than ever before. No one is asking the White Sox to move, no one is forcing them out of where they are, why should anyone pay for them to move anywhere? Also...The White Sox STINK. They have one of the worst owners in pro sports, and I could justify the state helping the team if the team was winning championships and bringing HUGE economic value back to the city and state with multiple titles, but they stink.

I will say that the 78 district of Chicago needs something, it is a PRIME piece of land, but the state helping the Sox take that land and pay for the development doesn't make sense.
