Illinois has Zero of the Best Small Cities to Start a Business in
A list has come out of the Top 100 Small Cities for Starting a Business in the USA and surprise Illinois has ZERO of the top 100. But Illinois isn't the only state that has zero cities in the top 100.
According to an article from Wallethub.com Illinois has zero of the top 100 Best Small Cities to Start a business in this year, and actually, it is worse than just the top 100, the first city from Illinois to appear on the list doesn't show up until spot 313 and that small city is Hanover Park, IL.
So how are these cities being judged for places to start a business, the site ranks the cities based on 3 major categories, the first one is the city's Business Environment, the second one is the city's Access to Resources, and finally they are ranked on the city's Business Costs. The states that have a lot of cities in the top 100 are Florida, Utah, Colorado, and Idaho.
This ranking does hit close to home here in the Tri-States, Quincy, IL makes the ranking at number 438, Quincy is ranked 1,043rd for Business Environment, 573rd for Business Costs, but a surprising 91st overall for Access to Resources!

This list is pretty damming to a state like Illinois, I don't know if the people who are elected to lead our state see things like this but I feel they should. Illinois needs to have more small towns being competitive when it comes to starting new businesses or else businesses will just keep going elsewhere.
