Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the rear of the home.

Officials say the homeowner was scraping paint off the wood trim of the home using an electric heat gun. The gun apparently got too hot and started the fire.

There was fire damage to the walls and the roof, along with smoke and water damage, but officials say the home is not a total loss.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire.
