The 11th Annual Wing Ding is coming to Hannibal on Saturday, January 24. The Wing Ding takes place at the Admiral Coontz Armory, where teams will compete for cash prizes of up to $1000, and bragging rights for having the “Best Wings of 2015.”

Doors will open at 11:00 a.m. Admission is $5 per person. This is a smoke-free, adults-only event and you must be 21 or older to attend. There will be games and activities throughout the day, including “Beer Olympics.” There also will be a wing eating competition and other surprises throughout the day. Wings will be served from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The team judged to have the best wings will win $1000, second place will receive $500, and third place will get $250.

This year’s theme is “The Big Wing Ding,” a take on the hit TV series The Big Bang Theory. Teams will dress in their favorite nerdy attire and decorate their booths in the theme. The best-decorated booth will be awarded a cash prize of $100.

The Hannibal Jaycees will sell water, soda and adult beverages. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s Wing Ding will go to the Marion County Ambulance District for their Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) placement program.

Team entries are still being accepted for a limited time. For more information, or to obtain an entry form, contact Jamie McCoy at 573-999-5073 or send e-mail to jamiemccoy11@gmail.com. You also contact Jenny Pabst at 573-795-6577 or jenny_pabst@yahoo.com.
