George Strait Performs New Song at 2015 ACM Awards, Receives Prestigious Milestone Award
Country legend George Strait took the stage with confidence at the 50th Annual ACM Awards after a stellar introduction from hosts Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, who noted his numerous ACM Awards over the last four decades and called him the ‘Dick Clark of Country Music.’
The King, clad in a dapper black suit and signature black cowboy hat, proved he’s still got it, breaking out with a classic, "All My Ex's Live in Texas," in front of a neon Texas-themed set, perfect for this year's Texas-based show. Strait was back and better than ever as he launched into his new song, "Let It Go," sure to be a new favorite for longtime fans.
After the performance, Strait was honored with the ACM Milestone Award, presented by Shelton and Bryan, who have clearly been influenced by Strait’s career and were ecstatic to present it.
“Thank you to the fans for keeping me back here all these years; it’s been so great,” Strait said as he graciously accepted.
