The Adams County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of burglaries in the rural Liberty area last Saturday through Monday.

Suspects forced their way into residences and out buildings, making off with various power tools, multiple firearms and a four-wheeler.

The investigation led to the serving of two search warrants, resulting in recovery of a majority of the stolen property.

Taken into custody Monday and Tuesday were 51 year old Andrew Arnett and 58 year old Timothy Crowl, both of Quincy and 62 year old Randall Van Velzer, 32 year old Cody Butterfield and 30 year old Maegan Valdez, all of rural Liberty.

Valdez was arrested on a parole warrant from Utah. The others were charged with residential burglary, possession of meth and possession of a firearm by a felon.

All five are in the Adams County Jail.
