Polls are open until 7 p.m. in Missouri and Illinois today.

Races for Illinois governor and US Senate headline the ballot in Illinois. Quincy voters will also decide on an 89 million dollar bond issue for new school facilities in the Quincy Public School district.

Missouri’s ballot includes proposed constitutional amendments.

Missouri election officials say they expect about 40-percent of registered voters to cast ballots today. The projections by the Secretary of State’s office are based on figures submitted by local clerks and election officials. Missouri has more than four-million registered voters. Depending on local races, county election officials are predicting turnout numbers from a low of 15-percent in some locations, to more than 60-percent in other counties.
