Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 2, for this year's The Santa Clause themed Parade of Lights in Canton. There will be other events throughout the evening leading up to the parade including a tree lighting ceremony at Central Park at 5:30 pm. The town will also have a bonfire where you can roast your own s'mores, songs by Culver-Stockton College students, hot chocolate, and hot dogs will be provided.

The parade will begin at 6:00 pm starting at Senior Housing and ending at Central Park where the BIG MAN IN RED will be for children to stop by. See what creative floats community members come up with. In the past, themes including A Christmas Story, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. People can get pretty creative with their floats. It may be chilly so make sure you bundle up and bring plenty of hot chocolate or coffee.

While there, stop by all of the local businesses and support local and try my favorite place to stop Primo's.

LOOK: See what Christmas was like the year you were born
