In regards to the B-2 Stealth bomber that crashed in Missouri, I have good news and bad news. The good news is there were no fires or injuries reported. The bad news is it costs $2 billion dollars.

KMBC in Kansas City just reported on this accident that took place at Whiteman Air Force Base this past Tuesday. When it comes to matters like this, I prefer to let the experts speak. KMBC quoted an Air Force spokesperson who shared some details:

There were no personnel injuries and no fire associated with the landing," said Jennifer Greene, a spokeswoman for Air Force Global Strike Public Affairs. "The incident is under investigation and more information will be provided as it becomes available.

Here's video of the satellite photos from the crash.

The B-2 Stealth Bomber is a very intimidating beast. If you've never seen it in action, here you go.

The Northrop-Grumman website describes the terror this plane can rain down on an enemy. It's a 200-ton weapon that even sophisticated radar can't detect. Shudder to be someone on the receiving end of its 20-ton payload.

About that cost though...the Wikipedia page shares that the total cost for one of these planes is approximately $2.17 billion dollars. That makes even a fender bender like the accident this week a costly one. After looking at exactly how many crooked numbers and zeroes that would be on a B-2 stealth bomber repair bill, I won't complain about the new tires I had to buy for our family vehicle this year.
