Season 8 of The Voice  is fully underway, and the Battle Rounds have already begun! Brenna Yaeger and Kelsie May went country for their face-off on Monday night's (March 16) episode.

Both Yaeger and May are members of Blake Shelton's team, and given his own career, the coach leans country. That can present a problem in judging his 'offspring,' as they tend to harbor a similar sound. But these two women both held their own — when paired together it's obvious they're more similar than different.

For the battle, Yaeger and May sang Reba McEntire's "Fancy" (and even drawing some social media attention from the country icon) as Shelton looked on from his judge's seat with a smile. Although they were competing, the two playfully sang to one another on The Voice stage.

"I can see why he paired you two together for sure," Christina Aguilera told the girls after their performance. "You guys represent the same kind of a thing on his team, but I think part of Blake's work is to work on some dynamics, maybe."

When it was his turn to speak, Pharrell pointed out the differences and similarities between the two, saying he wasn't sure how Shelton would choose since both women are "incredible."

"I think ability-wise these two are very evenly paired," Adam Levine explains in the clip, admitting he'd probably choose May just because of her assertiveness and confidence while on stage.

It was then Shelton's time to pick a winner, but before he did, he explained how hard the decision was for him, since he didn't want either young woman to feel discouraged, adding that they're "both really great singers." In the end, he took Levine's advice and went with May. There was no save for the talented Yaeger, so her time on the show came to an end.

The Voice is broadcast on NBC.
