The widely-anticipated DICK'S Sporting Goods store in Quincy finally has its opening date!

The retailer is scheduled to open for a "sneak preview" on June 15 and June 16 from 9:00 am until 9:30 pm with a three-day grand opening weekend slated for June 17 through June 19.

On Friday, the first 100 people in line will receive a free Reebok Play Dry® T-Shirt. Adults who are in line at 7:45 a.m. on Friday will get a chance to open the DICK’S Sporting Goods Gift Locker.

Former St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Vince Coleman will make an in-store appearance from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday and Sunday giveaways include a free Mystery Gift Card for the first 100 adults in line. Adults who are in line at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday and 8:45 a.m. on Sunday will also get a chance to open the DICK’S Sporting Goods Gift Locker.

Located in Quincy’s Prairie Trail Shopping Center adjacent to the new Five Below store, the Quincy Dick’s Sporting Goods will feature athletic and outdoor apparel and footwear as well as equipment for sports, fitness, camping, hunting, and fishing.

Until now, the closest retailers were in Burlington, Iowa; Wentzville, Missouri; Columbia, Missouri; and Springfield, Illinois.

The Prairie Trail retail center welcomed its first big-box outlet, Lowe’s, in 2003. Today, Kohl’s Old Navy, Shoe Carnival, TJ Maxx, Snap Fitness, Buffalo Wild Wings, Best Buy, and (soon) Five Below all occupy the space.
