The preliminary numbers are in from the Missouri State Highway Patrol on traffic deaths over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Highway Patrol officials report troopers investigated 19 traffic crashes in northeast Missouri, with no fatalities and two injuries.

Totals also show that Troop B officers made two DUI arrests, 12 for drug violations, issued 340 citations for speeding and 86 for seat belts, assisted 213 motorists and issued 845 warnings.

Statewide, there were nine traffic fatalities reported on Missouri highways, including 67 year old David Rice of Silex, who was killed in a head on collision in Lincoln County.

The Thanksgiving holiday reporting period ran from 6 p.m. Wednesday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
