The newest Miss Hannibal, Scarlett McMullen, was crowned in November. We had a chance to visit with her during Monday's St. Louis Cardinals Caravan at Hannibal-LaGrange University, where she greeted the visiting Cardinals.

Scarlett McMullen is a Senior at Palmyra High School who has only ever participated in two pageants. She competed for the title of Miss Marion County over the summer, before winning Miss Hannibal. At Palmyra High School, McMullen is active as captain of the pom squad. She also dances at Heinze Dance Academy.

While she's not been Miss Hannibal very long, McMullen says the highlight of her reign has been participating, along with Miss Marion County and Miss New London, in the Make-a-Wish Fireworks Night for Molly McKinley. Molly is an 11-year-old girl battling a neurological disorder. She had requested a trip to Disney World to watch fireworks with princesses from the Make-a-Wish Foundation, but her health prevented her from making the trip. Instead, the community of Hannibal rallied to give Molly a fireworks show on January 7, where she was crowned "Princess Molly."

McMullen plans to attend Central Methodist University to double major in Elementary Education and Special Education. She will also join the dance team.
