Hannibal Police and Marion County Sheriff’s deputies are on the lookout for a Hannibal man who is a person of interest in two apparently related shootings, one of which resulted in the death of a Hannibal woman.

In a press conference Wednesday, HPD Chief Lindell Davis updated the media on the investigation of the fatal shooting of 30 year old Brittany Gauch in the 1100 block of Summer Street in Hannibal at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, and the shooting of Brittany Gauch’s husband, Aaron Gauch on Marion County Road 432 about two hours earlier.

Chief Davis and Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn identified a person of interest in the cases as 34 year old Timothy Brokes of Hannibal. Aaron Gauch told authorities at the scene that Brokes had shot him and run over him before leaving the scene in a black GMC pickup with Missouri license 4MV061.

Brittany Gauch was pronounced dead at the scene, with an autopsy scheduled for Thursday in Columbia. Aaron Gauch is reported in critical condition in University Medical Center in Columbia.

Chief Davis reports that Brokes is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol or Hannibal Police.
