An arraignment hearing is set October 14 for a Hannibal man accused in an August shooting in Quincy. An Adams County judge found probable cause Wednesday in the case against 18-year-old Lelen Bonds of Hannibal. Bonds is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. Bonds is accused of shooting another teen in the leg on the afternoon of August 25 near 5th and Cherry. Police say Bonds of Hannibal was arrested that evening in connection with the shooting and also on an outstanding Missouri warrant for a probation violation on burglary charges.

The 18-year-old male victim was taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg. Police say the incident was not a random act. Police reports indicate the shooter was in a gold colored car similar to a Toyota or Lexus that fled the scene.
