If you've been asking yourself when the rain will stop in northeast Missouri and western Illinois, the answer is - apparently not this week.

National Weather Service forecasters call for at least a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms all the way through Sunday.

The best chances of rain are Wednesday and Wednesday night, with probabilities listed at 60 and 50 percent, respectively.

Otherwise, chances of rain for the week range from 20 to 40 percent for the entire week.

Temperatures will be on the cool side for the end of June and the first of July. Aside from a high in the mid 80s Tuesday, temps are expected to top out from the upper 70s to low 80s. Lows for the week will hover around the mid 60s.

Right now, the prediction for Independence Day Saturday calls for a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high of 79.
